About the project

Wellbeing Matters Kirklees

A developing digital resource library sharing mental health awareness, practical wellbeing ideas and routes to support for people across Kirklees.

Our purpose

Clear starting points for wellbeing

WMK brings together approachable information about common mental health experiences, everyday coping ideas and links to NHS and local support. The topic guides are arranged in five parts so readers can move from understanding a subject to knowing where they might seek help.

We are building the project step by step. At present, Wellbeing Matters Kirklees is not a registered organisation or charity; formal registration is being explored.

Information here is for awareness and signposting. We do not offer diagnosis, therapy, medical advice or a crisis response. We link to the provider’s own information so readers can check current details.

Jason

Founder and project lead

I’m Jason, the person building Wellbeing Matters Kirklees. I study at Calderdale College and am involved in youth and community work through Youth Matters Kirklees. My work on WMK focuses on making mental health and wellbeing information easier to find, read and share.

I’m developing the library and its social channels while working toward a more formal structure for the project. I want the information to be approachable, whether someone is reading about a topic for the first time, looking for a small coping idea or trying to find an appropriate service.

My role includes shaping the five-part topic guides, gathering practical wellbeing ideas, sharing awareness posts and connecting people to the original pages of local and national organisations. I’m also building a directory of community activities so people can see where they might find company and support nearby.

This is an evolving resource, and I welcome corrections and suggestions. WMK shares general information and links; I do not provide diagnosis, counselling or a crisis service through the project.
